Today marks the first day of School and to commemorate this most joyous occasion, I’ve put together a page of free book labels for parents to use for their children’s textbooks. My thanks to the lovely miss bee for the inspiration. To print, just click on the image below and print out.
Thanks for reading and here’s to the beginning of a prosperous 2010 school year!
Congratulations to both Princess Katie and Racer Steve of their front cover of Celebrity Parents Magazine! One thing that I thought was really clever was the publishers incorporated the cartoon counterparts of Katie and Steve I had worked on into the cover as well! I had the pleasure of working with the musical duo for the packaging of their latest musical album Tiny Cool.
Since their CD has been out for a few months, I thought it was okay to post the layout that I had mentioned in a previous entry. This piece was used as a the giant fold out poster of Tiny Cool’s cd packaging. The concept is based off of one of the songs called “Sand In My Sandwich.” I think the title is self explanatory, but it is still a fun song to listen to.
Anyhow, congratulations to the first of what I am sure of many more articles to come!
The amazing blog They Draw and Cook has my collaboration recipe with the very talented Karen Merzenich. If you get a chance, check it out because both the art and the recipes are delicious!
I’m happy to say that I was included in a comic themed art show up in the Bay Area. Sweet Breams is a lovely little desert shop located in downtown San Mateo, my old stomping grounds, that not only sells these delicious treats called chibi taiyaki but hosts contemporary art shows.
My BoomBox Head Expressing Himself will be exhibiting there along with some other great artists’ works, so if you get a chance to swing by and take pictures, please let me know! Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend the opening nor be able to see it displayed so any pictures would be appreciated!
every year always produces another graduating class at the school I work for, but this year is different.
after being there for eight years, i have literally seen most of these kids grow up before my eyes. to finally see them graduate has really moved me and I couldn’t be prouder.
in addition, this year a number of good friends achieved their well deserved college degree (or two) anf masters despite suffering setback after setback.
all of you guys inspire me and i want to wish you and your families the best. i know you will all go on to do big things…
An original design that I created for a Fresh & Easy grocery bag graphic contest.
I tried to create a design that was very retro 50’s mascot vibe to it. The design utilized an anthropomorphic version of the company’s existing logo, which was already an amalgam of a clock and piece of produce. I nicknamed my character Freasy.
Alas I did not make it into the finals, and although it didn’t come close to winning, I am still pretty proud of the way it turned out.
