Working with Singularity University, I participated in creating graphics for the first season of Ask an Export, a series answering real questions from the twitterverse by experts in their relative fields. This post will feature some of the hard work that went on behind the scenes of the ROBOTS episode featuring Mr. Robert Nail.
(Above: Both Rough and final versions of the programmable robot. An exploded veiw of the robot dummy showing the number of parts created for the the editor to animate)
(Below: The assembly line I created in addition to the broken down and complete model of DNA that the robot is programmed to construct)
(Above: Robert Nail makes reference to the Movie Robot and Frank, so a “birdified”version was incorporated into the video.)
(Below: An animated version of the sad young bird who dropped his ice cream treat onto the ground. He is supposed to look up and see Pepper, a Robot that is programmed to read human emotion.)
(Above: The rough concept of our Pepper bot next the her exploded dummy for animation and alternate facial expressions.)
(Below: Siri having an off day. >__< )
If you found this at all interesting, then please feel free to see the rest of the first season here. Thanks and hope you enjoyed it!
